China Today

Ø	China is more than a country – it is almost as complex as a whole continent.
Ø	China has the largest evangelical church in the world – estimates reach 100 million.
Ø	Over 10,000 come to the Lord every day, the Chinese church tells us.
Ø	Freedom of worship is restricted in places but is improving greatly in other regions of the country.
Ø	The State church is growing, but 80% of the believers still chose to meet in unregistered churches.
Ø	Prayer is urgently needed for the persecuted Christians in China which is still very real.
Ø	The amount of Christian literature available per capita is so small that we couldn’t even estimate the fraction of 1% that it would be.

 

Key Answer for China’s Churches – Emmaus Bible Courses

 

Listen to this testimony of a recent contact in an unnamed part of China:

 

“We are anxiously awaiting Andreas making contact with Li-ying and she will take him to the site of our discipleship school. If he brings some courses they can start immediately and he can teach the first lesson. From my experience in the past, the Emmaus lessons are self explanatory so our coordinators can direct the studies. This group has been praying and waiting for 5 years for "Andrew" to come to them. Andrew was so good in bringing people to Jesus!”

 

Now visualize each contact from this school setting up Emmaus Bible distribution centers in 10 house churches. Then each of those 10 churches use their internal networking to reach 10 more churches each. That is 110 churches where there could be a whole curriculum of Bible study tools available. Say 20 believers in each congregation latch onto these study materials, the likes of which they have never seen before, that adds up to 2,200 believers drinking in God’s Word motivated by a Bible study program that gives them direction. And that all started from just one contact a few months previous.

 

Your calculator may give you the numbers if you calculate what dozens and hundreds of more of these “contacts” could multiply to through a network of churches, but the spiritual impact is incalculable. It will only be known in eternity.

Twenty of the Chinese courses are translated, edited and ready for reproduction as DVDs and printed courses. The program can start immediately and more courses for the 48 course curriculum will be prepared as we proceed. A visionary team of Godly people are networking contacts and setting up methodologies for reaching different areas in different ways. A low key strategy of working through nationals with indigenous methods means that overhead costs are almost non-existent.
